What happened to RSS feeds?

I used to receive a list of new posts and threads via an RSS feed:

However, this service now appears to be dead. Does anyone know what happened? (Does anyone even know what an RSS feed is?)

I use the same "recent posts" URL, but RSS feeds are much more convenient, partly because I aggregate multiple news and forum feeds under one browser tab. They can also declutter web sites by presenting only the informational content, and the feeds automatically update themselves at user specified intervals.
