So i lost this latch that you flick when opening and closing the awning. i have searched high and low but cannot find anything online. Only found with the complete spring assembly.
When i had a Carefree awning and bits and pieces either broke or fell off such as what happened to you and also that stupid little clip that keeps the upper arm attached to the roller, i would go to the caravan repair shop.
I found that when people get things replaced a lot of these repairers keep the old part for spares. That is where I successfully went for each of my Carefree catastrophes.
Hi Doug. No when I went to get the awning redone there were none available and a six month wait. I had a Dometic fitted instead.
Now I am carefree and Carefree.
Thank you all. After unsuccessfully trying to source one, even at the caravan repairer(only 1 here in Kingaroy), I managed to "fabricate" another one. Its not the nicest looking but definitely works.
I'm Carefree now, but when I wasn't things that broke and were not cheap to replace.
3 little springie things that hold support arm up, 2 handles that hold the leg at its desired height, 3 roller springs, 2 black screw knobs for the support arm and 2 skins ( the original and the second which was made from a thinner material which ended up developing pin holes in the fabric after 3 years).
12 months ago I bit the bullet and brought the cheapest alternative (Jillaroo) the roller is a stronger design because a 20' one comes in 3 sections, it's does the intended job well, bearing in mind the waning is deployed 24/7/365 in northern qld, withstanding battering thunderstorms, mini cyclones, blistering sun.and winds that would blow a dog oof the chain.
