Fires worldwide on Windy from satellite

The fires in California although tragic really dont stack up against

Venezuela right now. Of course, since they are in residential areas

the human impact is horrible, but theres many areas worldwide showing

hugely more fires.

Even Queensland and NT show a disturbing number of outbreaks  - see

Sub Sahara and Georgia in the USA also.

Seems built-up areas where one would expect less fires than in rural

areas it is not always the case.

You cant blame lightning and global climate changes (poof) for the fires in

built up suburbs. You should be in qld when they set the canefields on fire!

If you havent got Windy, I can recommend it for more than just your keeping

away from fire outbreaks- The menu for so many climate alternatives is amazing.

Havent counted them but there must be 40 or more.

Very interesting site.

Here's a few miniatures for you.

Note the general absence of fire in California.

Windy is so useful in the fire season - you don''t want to plan a camp in a fire zone!

You can zoom in till you can see individul streets/houses/geo details/roads.

You seem to have a fascination with fire, Brodie.

Yes, the Windy site does have some great overlays, but isn't this the third time (at least) that you have posted it?

Well so what? Why does it bother you?

Have you not noticed that there is a sticky for fire reports?

Have you considered complaining about that?

Dont you think that knowing about fires position before or during travels outback could

be a great asset?

And in any case the site is full of interesting weather info and reliable predictions

that could even be lifesaving in wet and cyclone seasons

I PERSONALLY THINK THAT YOU ARE BEING VERY PRETENTIOUS ABOUT THE WHOLE MATTER

It was more observation than criticism. Not nearly as much criticism as your repsonse to me.

I have previously agreed with you on the benefits. Chill.
