caravan awning

jayco starcraft model 15.61 (year 2015). my vinyl awning has shrunk on the end where it rolls up. The left to right measurement is about 60mm different at the top against the bottom, the  vinyl at the extended end is about 60mm (30mm each side) shorter than at the top (attached to side of caravan). this means i am unable to use my "Aussie travellers" anti flap attachment. Has anyone else had this problem or kIMG_6714.jpgIMG_6713.jpgnow if this can be fixed or do i need a new awning ?

No, you do not need a new awning.

Just remove current end brackets and refix under ends of awning as previously and redrill holes in end tube to appropriate location.

Make sure the awning is fully unrolled. The rope track for front sail must point down 90 degrees (important). Attach the anti-flap to the awning. You can now mark the positions of the bracket location under the awning top rope track and the new hole position in end tube.

Thanks for advice. the bracket at the top (attached to side of van) is still in correct position so just need to drill the holes in end tube. Will make sure the rope track is at 90 degrees  -  many thanks for the advice smile

P & J,

check with YouTube videos, but as far as I am aware, the centre of the saddle bracket on the van should be placed 20mm inside the edge of the material, and 20mm below material.
I had to refit ours a couple of months ago due to the same issue, but need to both ends. Looks like the centre is lined up with the edge on your.

I think the holes in the tube are the same, 20mm inside and below the material edge.

Very common problem fix as above, I also put a screw through the awning and into the barrel to stop it shrinking further!
