Evening people. I have a particular issue that I am hoping someone may be able to provide advise on.
On my Avan pop top (composite panel construct) the coax from the antenna to the van has broken off at the level where it enters the roof level with the top of the rubber boot that seal the entry point. I note that the cable has an inline joiner behind the microwave before the cable again enters the wall panel to go to the distribution point behind the tv.
So does anybody have any experience/ideas as to how to replace the broken section? Is it modded into the roof section at manufacture or is there some kind of void/conduit that will allow the old cable to be removed and the new one pulled through?
Which ever it is it will be fun to repair, not. Ta in advance.
Hi Herks; You may be able to just pull enough coax cable through the gland to put in a coax cable joiner and replace the cable from there up to the winguard antenna. A pair of pointy plyers is a good start. Replaceing the cable ( use RG6 cable ) from the outlet / power injector behind you tv, through the wall and up to the roof is a real pain in the back side and every caravan is different. Once done you also need to check and see if you have 12 volts at the end of the coax ( make certain that you have the little switch turned on ). No voltage and you have a break in your cable somewhere. Just take your time. Some time it also helps if you can remove the top bracket that holds the arms in place as this may also give you a little bit more freedome.

so you are suggesting that the cable is installed in 3 sections? 1 in the roof section. 2 in the furnature and the 3rd in the wall going to the outlet and then all 3 are joined at the time of assembly!
OK so it looks like it may not have been done before (at least by brothers on here at least) Will just have to give it a go and see how it turns out.
Thanks for the input anyway. Ta.
