On news.com.au, there is a headline that says.
"Mushroom cook Erin Patterson accused of tampering with prison food that allegedly caused another inmate to fall ill"
This is while she awaited trial, this claim was made by a fellow inmate at the Dame Phyllis Frost Centre, which is a maximum-security prison in Melbourne.
Patterson was held there in remand.
However the prison authority says there is no evidence that she was in a position to prepare meals. However no one knows if she had access to the kitchen.
Total tripe. Prisoners on remand do not get the benefit of duties whilst awaiting trial.
These duties are given to prisoners serving their sentences. However, if it was in the media it must be true, mustnt it.

Totally agree with the last sentence. Media will latch on to anything that will make sensational report. Personally I like Mushrooms, they compliment a nice eye fillet very well slow cooked in a pan with butter but, I am sick of hearing about them on tv.
Unfortunately we will have to go through all this Bovine excrement again when she appeals. The Netflix button will be applied.
I listened to the Drs Comments on two shows.
As I said to my wife, irrespective of criminal charges against the cook, it was unethical for him to speak about a patient.

I agree.
Loathe to crucify one from the medical fraternity but it occurred to me also he was a bit over the top.
Particularly his comments in regard to he considered her guilty almost immediately.
He is a Dr, not Detective Ron Iddles.
So, OK, the whole thing was "fishy" from the start.
The likelihood of highly poisonous mushrooms making it into a family meal, 3 die, one near death and the cook not ill is a BIT of a giveaway.
The poor thing must have been seriously misguided to consider doing such a thing?
The husband was lucky, he may have smelled a rat and dodged the fateful meal.
It is a shame the media hammered this unusual case so hard, it may have brought out a few who spoke too soon and too much.
I used to like field mushrooms and I get a lot growing wild in my back paddock.
I kick them though, some look a bit dodgy, gave the field mushy's a miss years ago.
