I am Dmaxer, am quite well, just getting back to touring by bicycle again, but with 2 other riders my age there abouts, I am 66, neighbour is 76, and another friend is 67, and we are training to do a 300-500km tour in early December, with our dogs, I haven't actually been out for a long while, and the others, are just coming back riding since they were young adults, so it has been very enjoyable, the comraderie and as men being men away from our wives, we have had a great time this week, we are also hitting the gym again to help with the training.
How have you been?, I have not been here for a while, so do miss what's going on.
I am going well BC,
Where are you going on this tour. Sounds pretty good. Going over any hills or looking for an easier route.
Looking forward to hearing all about it.
We are following the Gwydir River from here at home, in the New england, all the way to moree, then come back following creeks and dirt roads, no hwy's/. I still have bad ptsd from 2 accidents from when I was touring before, one bad one near Miles QLD, and one 20km north of here, both on tar roads and both by Grey Gonads towing vans,( old nomads, who didn't know the law about giving 1.5 metres clearance to cyclists on the road) so it is going to take a while before I can get up the guts to do major tar A and B roads again.

I have been spending a lot of the time over the last 2 years up at the old cabin at Drake, going up by motorbike with Milo, fixing it up, and debating about myself moving there, but I am getting older and it is a long way from decent medical care, plus the missus doesn't want me to be permanently up there, being up there might be behind me by now, it is just it is beautiful country, a permanent creek and waterfall on the place as well, a small but convenient solar and battery system. At least I can still get up there for a break every now and then.
