Hi All
I live in the wheatbelt in WA
6 years ago purchase a Southern Cross Pacific Pearl Forward fold Camper trailer.
It has independant Suspension.
Ie 2 shockies and has 4 bushes at the front of the leg with a crush pin through the centre and a bolt going through that with a nut at the end.
The bushes have to be changed every 5000 kms,so have dropped the leg removed the bushes and have measured the bushes,i make them 38mm,but they are square bushes, rang the mob i bought the camper from but believe it or not they only sell Hybred caravans now and cant supply these bushes....a bit off i reckon after spending 20 k now im stuffed..i need some help pleasei need to talk to someoneone who knows what im trying to do
Any help would be appreciated please
My thanks in advance
Brimhunter
Edit. I see you previously posted about some roads well off the beaten track. If the bushes are worn out due to corrugations the shock absorbers are probably worn out as well. Maybe lower speed and reduced tyre pressures would have helped.

Yes 5000kms is the correct recomendation it seems...
And yes 38mm is the OD size..also did contact the company camper trailer was purchased from and because they only do Caravans now not really interested to be honest or that was my impression..as it is a chinese import hard to find but have sourced the parts from Huntsman industries in Victoria not a bad price either and good quality
Found a step by step video on you tube how to replace .just received parts stripped one side down about to re assemble with new bushes and xrush sleeves.
Thanks to Huntsman industries for being so helpful
If you fing a suitable engineer they can make them for you, and with a better quality material.
It surprised me it cost no more to have rear spring bushes made than purchase original part, if it was available. The original were steel iner, rubber and steel outer. Used a "plastic" instead of rubber.
I am surprised at the recommended replacement interval, too, like Are We Lost. Normally, in vehicles, the replacement interval is much longer.
Maybe, it would be good to ask the supplier where the parts were obtained, what their recommendations are for replacement intervals.
Going for a synthetic material is useful too.
I manufacture spring hanger pin kits for OKAs (and have done so for almost 20 years).
I supply them with top quality cast polyurethane pin bushes. The exact specification of the polyurethane is important depending on the bush design and the pin loading and diameter and can vary from supplier to supplier.
The pins are drilled for lubrication and have grease nipples.
I have tested them in my own vehicle unlubricated for 70,000km and then removed them. They were almost as good as new.
Cheers,
Peter
