Repurposing a PWM solar controller

I have a spare 30amp PWM soler controller, is it feasble to repurpose it as battery charger for AGM battery mounted in the back of the ute. Input where the solar panels are connected, but take the feed from the altermator (dumd one).

Why not connect the AGM battery directly to the alternator, via a relay so you can switch it on and off.
Charging batteries is just what alternators do.
