Do travellers still use satellite tv, and what are the ongoing costs .
were working in coral bay for a while, and will have satellite tv connected soon, but we also watch Netflix etc our boost card has already used 50gb in a week
and we use ten play also, but if we have satellite tv we wont be as reliant on internet access for streaming.
just wondering what is being used out there Im sure everyone will tell me how good their Starlink is so Im not looking at the benefits of Starlink, just comparisons.
Brian,
I've given up using satellite TV and now exclusively use Starlink Mini with unlimited download plan while traveling.
The Starlink system is quite expensive but I'm spending my kids inheritance. It gives me unlimited internet download for TV and phone access anywhere and is pretty easy to set up.
I've lightened up the motorhome a bit by getting rid of all the satellite TV gear.
Cheers,
Roy.
I just increased my Telstra mobile data to 180G for $80/mth and I never use it all. If I cant access Telstra Ill enjoy the break! My hubby has had no end of trouble trying to use his Starlink Mini. I havent even taken mine out of the box. And I removed my TV to create more space and just watch everything on my phone.
For internet download data I recharge my mobile Telstra modem monthly, when travelling, at $74 monthly (28 days expiry) for 300gb data.
Never use all the data monthly but can watch Netflix, Foxtel, Kayo, Freeview channels and any downloading I want. I think the cost is cheap when travelling.
