Up dating/new electric toothbrush

Firstly I will point out a disclaimer...

As kids my parents had us use battery powered toothbrushs,... I am in my 60ies (unfortunately... could be worse!) My parents also installed compressor hot water system in the 1980s, so ancient technology today by any stretch of the imagination.

Anyway, due to my penny pinching attitude, I pulled apart one of our electric toothbrushs to replace the battery.

To be blunt, the German technology/or "purposefully design," probably it's not worth the effort (in other words time cost benefit ratio) replacing the battery... Not worth it.

P.S. I did in the end buy, actually two of them (as back up,) I personally always engineer redundancy, like my 6 X 20 Watt solar panels & 2 Victron controllers, & 4 X 26AH batteries. (3 x air compressors, but that is basically aliken to a "Ukrainen management ruZZia quality control subject!")

I do like the old design toothbrush (the brush is a bit smaller for difficult areas in my situation with wisdom teeth... not that there was much benefit there... as far as wisdom!)... so will at this stage, alternate between the old & new designs. But the new design I not bad to be fair. Although consumables are far more expensive, basically double the price.. But all parts are more or less half price at the moment with major chemist reatalor... also the brushes at almost half price.

Don't spend any money,... than more than on the io3.

P.P.S. I have a few of the twin AA battery toothbrushs for travelling. They are not quite as good as the mains charged toothbrush,... but within reason, not bad. Great for overseas.

The 240V rechargeable run out of power last week when we were off-grid, I purchased a twin AA battery one at the Prices Plus store in Longreach Qld ($7.00) I don't know why everybody doesn't carry a spare one.

I cannot use a battery powered tooth brush, have 4 top teeth implants ( now plus a 3 teeth Bridge on implants). The electric vibration loosens the implant screws.

5 years ago on the Spirit of Tassie ( Melb to Devenport) one implant came loose and I nearly swalled it.

10 or so years ago Amsterdam to Budapest Scenic Cruise, an implant came loose caused an infection and had trouble getting antibiotics to calm it down. Every time I chewed something I could hear/feel the tooth/implant click.

We are lucky to have the dentistry we have today. My grandparents chose to have all their teeth pulled out & had dentures.

I had a broken jaw when I was 13. I had a metal covering moulded to my top and bottom teeth, then wired together. I had soup and Milo for six weeks. It absolutely fd my teeth. Had extractions, bridges, more bridges, then implants. Never had a problem with the implants. I also never chew ball bearings lol
