Honestly I can't stand watching soccer.
Some pussy gets a clip on the boot and it is an ambulance situation.

Although sometimes it is amusing to watch said pussy writhe in apparent pain after an opponent has an air-swing at him.
It is good comedy at times I must admit.

I used to enjoy playing and watching the game, but that was in the 60s and 70s when English soccer was a regular feature on TV. The game was entertaining in those days. No endless backpassing like today. Even the goalkeepers used to punt the ball downfield to keep the attacking game flowing. In those days it was German soccer that was deadly boring. Today, it's boring everywhere. I started to watch Australia versus Turkiye, but after two minutes of backpassing I switched off the TV.

As for the diving, I notice that it doesn't happen as much, if at all, in the women's game. When the women are hit, they just get up again. In fact, my impression is that soccer is now a game where the men play like women, and the women play like men.

Correct.
I can watch women's soccer, they are OK, they play a good attacking style.
Can watch women's Rugby League, it is OK, has errors and is unpredictable, unlike the boring repetitive NRL, women's cricket is a good watch.

But leave me out of women's AFL, it is a real short-kicking dogs breakfast that one.
Also the English men's soccer, boy, are those sooks overpaid or what?

Men's tennis, out, just a boring power game.
Women's tennis OK, not so thump and crash as the men's.

Soccerheads can be strange fish too, flares, what is with letting off flares, imbeciles.......
In some places if their team wins, they wreck towns and burn cars.

We just happened to watch snooker on TV in England. It was really interesting, especially when the ball was being blocked. It slowed the game right down, but the technical skills were amazing seeing how each player was working around the issues.

P.S. I played soccer as a kid, but haven't been interested in it for decades.

Things have really got out of control in Australia.
It is sad what our once great country has dwindled and diminished to be.

I read in the news today the left have come out with One Nation supporters are not allowed to support the team because it contains immigrants and that makes them hypocritical.
Really? One just wonders where all this ends????

My understanding is that one nation simply wants to reduce the obscene number of immigrants (voters at a later stage) that the liar is bringing in.

I totally agree with that policy. BTW, my wife is an immigrant.

I am not against immigration but I am in favour of young Australians and low income workers being able to afford a home!!!
Think also it is reasonable to attract immigrants that traditionally assimilate to our way of life as opposed to those who don't embrace the Australian "dream".
Specifically those who shoot up Western Sydney every second day and those who burn Melbourne.

I have been since around 18 years old and still am a huge Baseball fan. I follow Atlanta Braves in MLB and always have. I have been involved in coaching and committees, Vice President on 1 club and President of 2 clubs. My son played local baseball for 2 teams, 1 summer and 1 winter. He played rep baseball for VIC and National baseball as a catcher until I lost him in a road accident by a drunken drugged out mongrel. I am very passionate with my support for Australia in International comps and my Atlanta Braves (Top of the comp lead ladder so far this season biggrin )

I also follow the Bombers in AFL and Melbourne Storm in NRL but Baseball wins out most of the time for viewing. (Just as well this season cry )

The majority of immigrants in the 50/60s decades came from UK,Italy and Greece. All countries with similar versions of the same religion who,by and large, found it easy to assimilate since their beliefs were basically the same.

When you throw open the doors to all and sundry, division is created in society, because they have a totally different attitude to life and will never fully assimilate.To many religions life is cheap, has been for a thousand years.Welcoming mass immigration might give some a warm feeling inside but, there has to be a limit. Common sense.? Not a lot of it about in the higher echelons of power in this country at the moment.Especially here in Victoria!

Though I think they are very dark times at present.
Never in my 70 years have I seen it this bad.
It is awful, the county has gone to the dogs, the polls seem to be pointing the same way.

In my lifetime I have voted Country Party, Labor, Libs and now have donated to "Fire the Liar".

I call a spade a spade, always have, (am I still allowed to use that old saying!!!!). Probably not.
Presently waiting to watch the National Press Club on TV today. It will be controversial.
I reckon it would not be good for "she" to be PM, but a huge vote will certainly wake up the woke, one would think.

Dorian sorry to say that my IQ is 136. Not Mensa level but still pretty reasonable. I have five kids, nine grandkids. None of them have taken a cent from Centrelink, they dont have mental illnesses, carry a machete or burn down cigarette shops or liquor stores. All high achievers not criminals. One got an ATAR of 99.6 in his HSC. I and they have contributed to this country only to see the fabric of our society diminish year on year. Time for a change methinks as what the two major parties are simply destroying our nation. A fool is a person who keeps trying something that fails over and over again.
