We all hear it time and time again about some, and I say only some caravan or motorhome people that they discharge grey or black water whilst travelling along the highway. That's nothing compared to trucks in particular 2 decks on a B-double with cattle.
On a return visit today from the south coast we got stuck behind one for approx 50 klms plus.
Every corner, every hill he crested and any movement from side to side was a continuous spray of liquid crap flowing out everywhere.
Spraying all over the road and onto cars either behind or coming towards him.
Wasn't going to take a chance of having a sh*# shower if I tried to pass him.
You get people whinging about caravans etc but a sh#* shower is worse from a truck.

Ive been in similar situations with trucks leaking liquids that I had no idea what they were.
I find the best solution is to just pull over for a short while and avoid it altogether.
And relax.
It's a good idea to keep well back from stock trucks. As unpleasant as it is, most stock poop is grasses/grains etc which is nowhere near as bad as carnivore poop.
We went to the coast last week and I had to warn my daughter not to go too close to a lookout area because a grot had left used loo paper around, so there was probably a poop somewhere nearby.

Many moons and suns back, many, in a previous life the place I was working at gave me a company car, I was wrapped. I was in an outer Melbourne suburb and was a city slicker for sure. I was sent to Leongatha, no not for mushrooms, did what I was sent to do and late afternoon heading back home and got stuck behind a semi carrying cattle. Now back then it was mainly just a one trailer semi. In my wisdom, not always a good idea, I sat right behind him as the road was windy and got covered in poo, soggy poo. I got home and hosed down then washed the new car.
NOPE!
Didn't work!
That brand new Ford car a few weeks later was replaced with a nice shiny new Ford car. The smell inside was that bad.
I even made the company newsletter. They really knew how to rub it in
Keep Safe out there and on the roads (and don't get stuck behind a cattle truck)

I have related on here before, the flash lady in the expensive white Merc tailgating a cattle truck in my home town.
As it went past the cop shop and stopped at the roundabout top of that hill, she got right up it's butt.
As a force of gravity, when he hit the brakes all the slush waved forwards.
Then it back washed, as a force of gravity - again.
I was positioned behind her, but well back.
A Tsunami of ****e burst from the back of the truck, possibly 2 or 3 wheelie bins of liquid cr*p.
I was in shock, but I reckon she got a bigger shock.
I learned a VERY important lesson that day, but the tailgating woman learned a bigger one.
The whole front and part of the roof of the once white flash Merc was now an ugly dripping brown.
In fact I wish that upon every tailgater in the country, they are my pet hate.
Stock transport are required to have catch tanks for waste.
Failure to control waste is treated as "unsecured load" fines are very expensive.
Southern cruiser for your patient I reward you with a big black hat for sitting behind the stock transport for 50 kilometres.
I stayed behind at a good distance. When it first happened when I thought I could pass, double lines and hills are a problem. Especially between the Hume Hwy turn-off to Harden and then onto Cootamundra. Too dangerous to take on a B-double along there unless you want to take a big risk. Many a time I travel this road and don't come across following a truck, especially a 2 deck cattle truck. Caravans you can get past, they don't spray you with s**t

Yep.
My Merc yarn was a long time ago.
30 or 40 years possibly.
Back when "Merc's" were THE car.
I find on the Hume highway, particularly circa Gundagai, Yass region it is pointless at times to overtake the trucks up a hill.
Five minutes later they come pelting up behind you having to overtake again.
The only time they really annoy me is on a bush road and I have them a long way behind me on a single lane bush road (each way).
Then you go through a 50 KM town and I am doing 50 KM the whole way and 40 where indicated.
Then what was a truck 1 to 2 KM behind me for ages is up my butt.
That means one of us was speeding through town with kids, schools and pedestrian crossings.........
