Might as well erase the word privacy from the dictionary, because it's a bit like common sense which departed some years ago. Yep they will no doubt get some crims in the net but, once your face is in the database, it will be there forever.
Big Brother is alive and well.

I dont have a problem with street cameras. They deter crime. They assist with arrests and convictions. How many of you have dashcams?
Dash cams are used to record accidents not facial recognition en masse. I have one fitted front and rear as most collisions are rear enders. An added bonus was 5% off the insurance premium. I have no problem with ordinary street cameras, we have no choice as they are everywhere, just facial recognition ones which are the final nail in the coffin of what was once some sort of anonymity on our streets.

That would seriously depend on how you define a bedroom. Its just a room. What you call it is up to you. For example, If you setup a bar in one of the rooms can you still call it a bedroom?
Your car rego number identifies you.
Your mobile phone number location is tracked wherever you go.
Your internet searches tell a lot about you.
There is no such thing as privacy anymore.
Im happy to have have cameras in public places to identity criminals and terrorists.
Guy down the road is known for having some what others call strange ideas. One of them is cameras. He objects to all forms of camera use when it comes to him and his family. He went to a local event and had words with photographers taking photos of what was going on with store holders and the entertainment. Ended up he was asked to leave when the organisers got involved. Then he refused to leave, it was a free event and he told them that he didn't have to, but he wanted any photography stopped. Don't mention security cameras in shopping centres of road cameras. Two guys across the road from him installed security cameras and set him off. They now don't talk. A new camera got put in a month ago and that made things worse. When I told him they are not doing anything illegal he went off at me and came out I was taking their side. They have not broken any laws so there should be no sides. Never seen so much anger in a person's face before. After a very long time of us talking we no longer speak. Turns out there is a large number of people in the area that don't talk to him any more due to his extreme reactions on a range of subjects. Part of his problem is he truly believes that people are watching him, all the time. I told him no one has got that much spare time to sit and watch you do whatever in your driveway but he didn't even respond to that. He is paranoid and I once told him that which set him off at the time. He is definitely paranoid.
The thing is he does absolutely nothing of interest to anyone. Basically he stands in his driveway and smokes or does some work on his cars. That's it. He thinks those across the road watch all that on replay. He refuses to acknowledge that these cameras are for security reasons. Recently a car next door to him was stolen and the police got the footage to try and idenify the perpetrator. He did not see the value in that, it was purely spying on him. He definitely has some mental issues over a lot of things. Try even mentioning anything in that regard. It doesn't go over well even if you try to tell him your worried about the way he sees things. I given up on him totally. So has a lot of others.

Because your neighbour is a looney and of no interest to anyone should he therefore accept being watched and recorded on video as he goes about his own business in his own home?
I thought that was one of the major things we fought two hot wars and one cold war about....
My new city slicker neighbours have fancy new cameras at the front of their house.
I am always mindfull when I am in my back paddock and go for a bodiddeley.
Have looked around at the back of their place and cannot see a camera at the back or side of their driveway.
So mindfull of going for a hide when caught short up the back paddock.
I can see issues to a degree when a camera intrudes on a neighbours place.
These new spy spectacles that have been in the news recently are an issue also.
A lot of the new technology is not a good thing.
Crime seems to be worse now than at any time I can recall, so cameras don't seem to be very successful with crime prevention.
Along with just about every other measure, probably the best time in history to be a crim eh?
