What actually used to happen is that the said witches (wifes) were very talented at creating hallucinatory ~medicines. In the day a lot of these "medications" could have detrimental fatal effects if taken orally. So there are other ways of testing.
Another way to test medicines is via the skin, the more sensitive the skin the quicker the results, but not too much for a permanent ending. We do it today with skin patches, like slow release morphine for example.
Because one's wife was not getting any form of satisfaction from her husband. She would apply the herbal remedies to the broom handle.
This is why witches could fly.... their husbands were a failure in that department. The broom handle gave these poor wifes the satisfaction they needed simply because their husbands were useless in that department.
But it all has to be turned to blame others for lack of male performance.
So next time you hear your wife was flying, it is your failure.
I do actually have one of these blooms in the garage, but the better half never "used" it... just saying from a cleaning aspect as far as I know... but then on the other hand the broom handle isn't Wenge!!!???

I was in Germany for 3 months earlier this year. During carnival I found a new wife, her waist was that of a 16 year old. The future mother-in-law was not the prettiest. I blurred my face so as no to frighten people. They each had their own transport, so I would not have to be driving mother & daughter at all hours!
