The Grey Nomads - General

Firefly · Firefly

Hi all, we are about to take off on another adventure in July and want to see about adding maybe a towball lock when the van is unhitched. Have any of you knowledgeable Goeys any suggestions as to a brand, type or even another method of security that is practical? Thanks in advance.

Leaving Port Campbell in the morning and heading for South Aus. Will be out of contact for a day or so I would think. Anybody with any advice re: free camps or cheapies I would be grateful. If anybody in South Aus is putting the kettle on have pity on a couple of half frozen nomads and leave a hot cuppa on the g...

Hi folks, I have a pair of joggers, not a cheap brand (Moutain Design...no I am not rich, got them from a 2nd hand store, lol ) but they (soles) squeak like hell on concrete or tiles, ok when you walk on grass or concrete. Not too sure if the soles are rubber or a combination of plastic and rubber, bit hard to...

There is tremendous happiness in making others happy, despite our own situations. Shared grief is half the sorrow, but happiness, when shared, is doubled. If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have that money can't buy. 'Today is a gift, that is why it is called The Present .'

We're planning to visit Lawn Hill National Park, probably late August, but we don't like to take the van off the black top. Someone said we can leave it at Gregory Downs overnight and stay in a cabin in the national park, does anyone know if it is safe to do this.

New Member, new van, bought it yesterday. Van weighs 1500ks, tows well, pulls well but noticed the suspension on the Kia Sorento is slightly spongy. Should I replace strutts with heavier gas shocks, will that lift the car up and make a rougher ride empty ?

Been going through our receipts from previous trips to clean out a bit of my rubbish. I found some old caravan park receipts from 2006 so it will give you an idea of what the increases have been in those years. Some are not so bad in the big picture.
