As some of you know, I'm toothless and have been for over a year waiting for a gum problem to be sorted before I can get a set of choppers. But I can't help thinking about FOOD! So I thought I'd propose this recipe anyway so that you lucky devils with teeth can enjoy it. I've picked up a few tricks over the year...

Southern Calamari.
(Preview)
Squid as I know them are Torpedo or Southern Calamari and the latter are familiar to me. In SA and especially in the gulfs Calamari that are caught quite easily are fabulousness to eat if prepared properly. I am not a believer in fancy food and know there are many recipes adding all sorts of tastes that-a...

Using a Gasmate BBQ?
(Preview)
Hi all Just bought a Gasmate Cruiser II but it comes with no real instructions. I'm assuming that you use it like a normal bbq for snags and steaks with the lid open and for roasty stuff with the lid closed like a normal oven?

Any sourdough bakers out there?
(Preview)
I've been baking bread successfully and happily for more years than I care to recall. But recently I decided to get into this sourdough lark. Did all the research, bought the gear, including starters (which worked very well indeed), but I find the actual breadmaking a pain in the proverbial. Does the...

Freshly squeezed
(Preview)
Being toothless and (almost) weightless, I've been thinking about how to get a few goodies into the old bod to liven it up a bit. So I bought a juicer. Not just any old juicer, but a manual Lexen that juices leafy greens among other veges and fruits. Being manual, it's a go-anywhere juicer with no worries...

A stack of jaffle recipes!
(Preview)
G'day jaffle fans. I stumbled on this site this morning and started salivating when I read all the jaffle recipes... heaps of them! It's difficult to know where to start (or will be when I get my bloody teeth). The hash brown recipe is so simple it's ridiculous! But sounds yummy. Check the site out here....

Prawns and bacon
(Preview)
I used to frequent a restaurant in North Sydney that featured a dish I've never seen anywhere else, either entree size or main. It was school prawns wrapped in a rasher of bacon, served on a bed of rice with a special tomato sauce (something like salsa). I couldn't get enough of the damn things, and alway...
