WEBER STEW/CASSEROLE


There was a discussion in the "General" section of the forum about  Baby WeberQ's and I mentioned how I do a stew/casserole in the Q and get that nice Q smoky taste through it well,

Prepare a Stew/Casserole as you would normally for cooking in your house oven but cook it in the Q instead with no lid. Just stir 3 or 4 times during the cooking process to mix that nice Q taste through. End result is very close to a camp oven job.

Dougwe I would have thought you would either need the lid on the casserole or close the lid of the Q so it is just open to the elements (so to speak) but it does look delicious. I bet that Bendigo pottery casserole cooks up some beaut casseroles David.

 I suspect the lid on the Q was opened to allow us to view the delicious casserole, would be closed during cooking.wink

No lid on casserole but I always cook in the Q with lid closed as David said, the only way and how they are designed to cook in. Yes the lid was only open to take the pic. The pic shows the finished result. It was yum too.

Talking Weber BabyQ's - we bought one not long ago, just before Christmas, and I must say it is fantastic. So far I have done roast pork (best crackling ever), banana cake, roast lamb, as well as the usual meals.

Previously had a Cobb Cooker, which I had for over 10 years - cooked some amazing meals in that, nothing better than a roast in some remote spot - but the time has come to say goodbye to it - sadly.
