Chromecast
(Preview)
Does anyone have experience with using Chromecast on 12v tv when off grid? I would like to use the USB port for power, but my research seems to suggest that I would need a 'power usb' port. I think the tv usb port is 5v and the Chromecast is 5v - but is that enough to power the Chromecast?

I have just fixed a solo lady traveller's door latch on her Jayco poptop where the "tongue" had snapped off _ reckon poor design, but maybe so designed so that if anyone tries to lever open the door the tongue will break and prevent further damage. How do those of us who don't have any smart gadgets or an Internet connection get by? I don't have a smartphone, and I pay for my parking by putting a gold coin in the meter. I'm just in the process of plumbing a grey water tank onto our Adria and will have to re-route the existing plumbing, which is no biggie. I'm concerned that if I don't fit a check valve into the shower drain line, I may get some "splash back" into the shower if I have to travel too far with a full grey water ta...
