Road conditions

Looking at heading to WA for a couple of months in May. I'm wondering if there are sealed roads through the central area i.e Norseman to Port Hedland etc, don't want to go all the way into Perth and I'm trying to avoid long stretches of unsealed road.

There are a lot of roads and bridges closed around Qld. The Bruce Highway is closed in several places, especially around Gin Gin, Bundy to Gyumpie region. Biggenden is completely cut off at the moment. A good idea to add to this thread if anyone hears any news of floods and road closures.

Does anyone have any info on NSW roads. I do know that the roads from Goondiwindi north are still closed, on radio not long ago.

Wondering if someone can tell me if the road is bitumen from Sandstone to Meekatharra? I know it is if you go via Mt Magnet but not sure if you take the direct route. I've been told all the rest from Kalgoorlie to Meekatharra is bitumen.

HOWDY everyone, anyone got any info on the roma to emerald rd via rolleston. I am under the assumption that a lot of heavy transport use this road/highway including wide loads. hmmm just wondering of any feed back please. cheers Crocodile

Plenty of roadworks to Daintree, bitumen, and lots of hills and turns to Cape Tribulations.The road from then on is dirt and bulldust,lots of it . Very dry at the moment. There is plenty of road works, mostly around Cardwell range, and Cardwell itself. Looks like the seafrontgot a pumelling from Yasi, as the road as Marine parade is closed in places. Announced on local radio yesterday that there will be a new bypass around Berry soon. Work on South Nowra highway is going well but still lots of delays. One day the route to Sydney will be as good as the Hume Hwy.
