A great spot - lots of room, flushing toilets, cold showers unless you light the donkey heater. They were getting red claw while we were there - off Peak Downs Highway, from Mackay - turn right at the BP Junction - look for sign.

Mt. Mulligan is 45kms from Dimbulah in Nth Qld. No town there any more. It was all pulled down when the mine closed in 1957 (I was the secretary at the mine then). Campsite is on the bank of weir. This spot is just east of Inkerman, nth Qld. Some gravel road but in good condition. only facility is a toilet but if you like fishing it's a good spot. Good level area to park on

Gday The Nindigully Pub on the banks of the Moonie River about 40k south of St George . The pub supply's shower's and toilets at no charge and there is no charge for camping as the land is council owned .

Fletcher Creek is another good camp spot at 42 klms north of Charters Towers. Camping both sides of the creek on the south side and over the bridge on the right where the amenities block is located. CAW6 #285

This is a great camping spot, especially if you can get down under the old railway bridge. The view over the Burdekin River is lovely and the river water is clean and clear. It requires an off road vehicle or at least one with good clearance BUT if you are precious about train noise...this is not a campsit...

Had a couple days at Boulder Creek in NQ, about 18klms west of Calen....CAW6 #60. Well maintained flush toilet across the road, campfires allowed subject to fire bans (BYO wood) and pristine water from the creek.

Here's a couple of good camp areas worth a visit. Camps 6; QLD, 341 Jericho Community park. donation box. QLD 346 Lloyd Jones Weir. donation box . QLD 457 Wuruma Dam. Free. We stayed at these on the way up & all good.
