Saw the magnetic flyscreens in Dollars n Cents in Childers couple of days ago. 9.99. Only about a metre wide, which I think all of them are anyway. Not side enough for my sliding door, thats why I had to make my own.

I am noticing that some of us are having trouble re; overtightened wheel nuts and lifting off the tyre. I've had successes with (other people may not have) a couple of products on the market with names like "Tyre Weld" and similar. I've used Holts (Redex brand) and Finelec PFSSST (actual name). These things are in a large pressure can (like a big fly spray can) containing 'gas' and liquid rubber. They attach to the tyre valve in the normal manner and inflate (more or less) the tyre and seal the puncture. Now, they're only good for small (up to 5mm) punctures from a nail and such, but if the foreign object is removed and the hole put near to ground level (don't park on it) they are pretty effective for me. Once the puncture is sealed, go to a servo to adjust the tyre pressure. It's all done with the wheel still attached to the vehicle. They are supposed to be only a TEMPORARY repair, but I have driven 20K ks on one which I forgot about. Some tyre fitters don't like them (for obvious reasons) and claim that they ruin the inside of the tyre wall. I can't comment on that except to say that other tyre fitters say differently but don't like the mess from the liquid rubber inside the tyre that spills on them when they take it off to put in a permanent repair. I carry two in each vehicle and replace them one by one each year or so. About $15 depending on where you buy them and available at most auto places. For what it's worth.

 Hi Helen,

I was having trouble with the water draining from the sink in my Avan Camper and also the sullage hose kept coming off so when I was at Lakes Entrance a month or so back someone had the set up in the post I put on further up with a tap fitting attached to a water container that just sits under the drain hole, the rest I think speaks for it self. The person gave me his approval to take the photo and let anyone else see and use the idea. We are all here to help one another.

It is 3/4 inch thread(20mm) and I got it in the irrigation section of Bunnings and the clamp in the garden hose and fittings section. I found that the thread fitted into the tap thread of the container. The reason for the 15ltr size is that the larger ones don't fit under the camper and the 15 ltr didn't have to be cut down.

I can give more detail if needed but I think it is easy to work out what I was trying to do and achieved.

Jillyb is having a similar problem so I have been talking to her about it as well but couldn't attach photos to a PM.

The person that had the idea was having trouble with water draining slowly from his on board shower and came up with this idea.

Thanks Doug - I have been thinking of something similar - my bucket keeps on A) falling over or B) overflowing - also would like to keep the yucky stuff from the bottom either off grass or out of drains - depending where I am!!  I might just head out to Bunnings in a few minutes to see how I go,

Here is another idea for you....the bowl sits on the rear of my van on the bumper and travels inside the van on a ledge under the table.

 Thanks a lot for the welcome. Just got our first caravan and getting it ready for the first trip away, just a couple of weeks holiday to start. This forum has some great ideas and I have already actioned 3 of them. The pet collars to secure the awning poles for travel, the velcro for fastening hoses etc, and I'm making a wall 'thingamajig' to hold bits and pieces too. I don't understand why the steps would open while travelling as they seem to fit into their frame really well, but will check out the suggestion to use rubber door stops to jam the steps closed. Great forum! I'm having fun reading all the tips.

We find that IGA's tend to have a better gluten free range than the majors. The IGA at Young in NSW had a fantastic selection.
