We have used our shower tent with an independant battery which I find heavy to lift, and using the auxilary battery in the Prado. On the last trip, we left the spare battery behind, too much weight to be carrying about for very little use. But the independant battery allows you to set up wherever is private and not have to worry whether you can reach the plug on the van/ tug.
These little batteries are maybe a couple of kilos in weight and can be setup inside the shower tent.
This is the very battery I am referrng to and even cheaper on eBay. You can also buy them from Battery World and BCF.
It does too, I remember it. I could get S in L to put one somewhere near where I would put the ensuite tent up in the back corner. What a great idea, thanks Helen.

Hi Brian, Thanx for your reply, as I am new to forum not sure how to PM or which thread to use for QQ's.. I jus click on reply n all posts..As much info about my Hino would be much appreciated..thanx.
To stop my clothes in the wardrobe from fallen off the hangers, while travelling I have that stretch curtain wire strung across the hangers attached by eyelet at each end of the wardrobe and I have never had my clothes fall in a heap since
We also have a little battery box containing 2 x 7v batteries with cig lighter plug, which is used to recharge my phone and Ipod and when using the shower. Rob has made a handle on top of box to make it easy to carry to the shower tent. Very handy little box for me!
not sure how to PM or which thread to use for QQ's..
Hi Jenny. To PM some-one, Click on the name in their Avatar, and you'll get their Profile. At the bottom, you'll see "Send Message". Click on that, and there you are. Simple when you know how. What are QQ's ?
I bought som batteries from ebay http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/ALARM-BATTERY-7AH-AMP-HOUR-SPOTLIGHT-AGM-SLA-UPS-12-VOLT-12V-BONUS-/290647064148?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43abea3e54 I have bought stuff from this supplier befor and found thier delivery to be very fast, I need the bateries for my UPS and they are the same size as the ones in there already the price includes shipping
I have a plastic bowl that fits in my sink. I wash up in this & it gives me the choice of either pouring the water down the sink drain into my grey water tank or walking out of the motorhome & giving the washing up water to a needy tree or shrub. As we know lots of places in oz where the plants could do with a drink,
Got the same thing Kandagal. But I like to put the dish on top of the draining board to make it higher as I'm tall and get a backache bending over the low sink.
Gee thanks Womby, I haven't got the hang of adding attachments yet, not up the right way anyway !! I've spoken to the Lady but she won't take any notice !!
For all those things like water hose, power cable ,drainage hose and many other things we use Adjusta-Ties which are like an electricians cable tie but they are re-usable over and over they are made by Moss and come in a variety of sizes you can look them up on the web at www.mossproducts.com.au, we bought ours at bunnings but have seen them at some nurseries. When the main awning support bracket on the van broke we were able to use them to hold the arm till we could get to repairs, very versatile and cheap

Just had a look, couldn't find them. I have Occy straps but someone said they can be dangerous if the spring back and hit someone. Would be interested in what the Adjusta Ties look like.

I figured they were a reusable cable tie HW. Maybe aussietraveller can post a pic of some.
Thanks for the tips & photo's on the battery boxes. Have added that to my list. Another tip I picked up was to put a solar light on the A Frame of the van. Stops walking into it in the dark or anyone else walking past it at night hitting shins or falling over it.

I have one for the group. Most of us have a variety of keys for the van - door, boot, ball lock, etc, I have about 8 for various things. I colour coded them by painting one side of each key with a different colour (nail polish) and then painted a small area on the outside of each lock to identify which key goes where. The nail polish stands up well to the elements and it is easy to paint on using the small brush. Happy travels - Alan
