The Finke Desert race is also on in June. The race is a 2 day event with day one from Alice following the old Ghan route to Finke, day two back to Alice and a couple of preliminary days. It's from the 8 June to the 11 June this year. I've been to the last 2 with a few mates and their bikes and buggies, but unfortunately we're giving it a miss this years due to commitments like work, having babies (not us, the young blokes who would have been competing) etc. etc.. Ah well we should be there next year.
