Help --pudding made in a pot

I have a receipe for a pudding made in a pot cooked on the top of a stove but am guessing I have not written it down correctly - as it is not quite right - good but could be better  - does anyone have the correct reciepe

Saucepan steam pudding

Sauce

1 1/4 cups hot water, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tbsp butter, 1 tbsp golden syrup

bring sauce to boil slowly then drop pudding mixture on top  of sauce for about 10 to 15mins on low

Pudding

1 cup flour, 1 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 tsp butter or marg, 1 tsp baking soda

Combine dry ingredents, warm milk, add sugar dissolve, add butter and baking soda, mix all together.

I have found a middle size pot is best as the pudding should not be too thick as the sauce should surround the pudding, great for a winter nite with a bit of custard or yoghurt  - lasts us 2 nites - second night just put leftovers in a bowl and place in Baby Q after cooking the main course to gently heat up -

You're presumably trying to make golden syrup dumplings. It looks to me as if you have too much milk in the dumpling mix, the batter should be more like a scone dough, and there doesn't seem to be enough golden syrup in the sauce. Check out these recipes on the net:
