Will you play 'toesies' in those beds? It looks like a good roomy layout for a campervan.

Hmmmmm..toesies might be alright. It goes into a double bed. We shall see regarding sleeping arrangements, as we don't actually have it yet. Pick it up next Tuesday. We were kind of hoping we could squeeze a sleep with it like this. We are not tall people, however our roundness might be an issue. My darling fellow camperette is quite excited. All she cares about is squeezing as much stuff as she can into cupboards, and getting there so she can get it all out of the cupboards. I worry about getting there in the first place. If it all goes haywire, and something breaks along the way, it is me who has to fix it. Still, being abused by a cute woman in the middle of nowhere coz the van wont go has its charms I suppose. And we can always grab a beer and a bourbon and wait for RACQ to show up...as long as the fridge doesn't break down as well.

So I'm guessing then that that is it's daytime configuration. Hope it all works well for you. I can sense your excitement. Tell your wife not to fill the cupboards up too much or you won't be able to pull away from the kerb! Hehe

It looks great. I have my bed in the same place and can sprawl on it with the computer and look out the sliding door in comfort. I've tried the bed everywhere and that seems the most practical for me. Mine isn't a professional conversion and a constant work in progress.

You should have a ball in it.

" fellow camperette " I like that and would like to use it if it hasn't been copyrighted. Your "fellow camperette " sounds like mine, always 20 times as much stuff as required.
I think you've done the right thing by not going to a bigger van as there's only so much they can squeeze in.

Mate, use away!....We pick ours up tomorrow (Tuesday 21 May)......it is the camperette's birthday today, she was hoping we could get it on her birthday, but stuff happens. She is very excited, and wants to start cramming immediately. I have counselled that haste makes waste, that fools rush in where angels fear to tread, that patience is a virtue. Now, all you married blokes will know that I then received the obligatory withering look, followed by a long discourse on why it has to be crammed post haste. I just nod and say yes dear. It is far easier. She is, in fact, the world champion at packing and cramming, so I will let her rip.

I have discovered a positive aspect to letting the " other half " pack everything to the gunnels. Even at home I spend no more than 5 seconds looking for an item, I have developed the strategy of standing with a cupboard door open and yelling out that I can't find something. My explanation is that if stuff gets moved or there's too much in the cupboards then I won't be looking any further. Working well so far. No doubt there'll be a reckoning at some stage!!!!
Lifeline and Vinnies do well out of us generally.

Well, we got it...and I am super impressed! Sat on 110 very happily on the freeway, no bangs or crashes or clangs. Auto good, smooth changes, kicks down well, O/D works a treat. Hills are not its favourite thing, but then again I don't like them either. But it got us back home, over 200 klms with no fuss at all. For something that was never really intended to be a long distance cruiser, it does the job well. Clean as a whistle inside, it has been beautifully looked after. All gauges working and temps are good. Central locking works. Dual battery setup. Metho cooktop. Camperette is already cramming. I am very pleased, as is she.
