We are fairly new to the forum and planning the big lap next February. We have looked at the BT50 and the Ranger wildtrak. the vehicles are essentially the same in terms of towing performance?
Has anyone test driven both vehicles? We live in NZ and have not found a wildtrak to test drive!
We love the looks of the Ford but guess the Mazda might be a cheaper option that will perform as well as the Ford?
Has anyone found a really good, cheap Ford or Mazda dealer?
We have had our new BT-50 for only 10 days and are very pleased with it so far. It is diesel also. Had looked at Ford Ranger but as they are the same vehicle engine wise and the Mazda is cheaper that's the reason we got it. We bought ours in Murray Bridge, SA due to good trade in price. We had to wait 2 months for delivery and the ranger was an even longer wait then.
Apart from a few cosmetic differences they are both the result of a cooperative effort between Ford & Mazda with the result that to all intents & purposes they are the same vehicle. We have the BT50 & love it but only went that way due to the exorbitent value Ford places on that blue badge.

Hi, looking at doing the same a bit later in the year and will most likely go the way of the BT- 50, can't see a reason to spend the extra $. Scott n Bulldog - who did you get yours from in the bridge ?

We've owned a new BT50 for 2 months and highly delighted with it. Although it is a Mazda it has fomoco stamped on many parts! We have a Jayco Sportster and 5.3 meter Stacer runabout and the vehicle has sooo much power it handles the load easily. We have not had to modify the rear suspension as the standard leaf springs handle the load perfectly.
