Getting the ball rolling.

G'day Chopit and welcome to the forum. Within 2 years you'll be experts like the rest of us. Well, most of us. Them, actually. Some of them. Excluding me.

However, I do know one thing, and that is photos need the chopit - pun intended. Downsize your pics before posting cos it plays havoc with having to

scroll side to side.

See what I mean? I had to edit the length of my sentences to make them fit.

Scissors won't work. Vic already tried that. Hehe. No, you need an image viewer - the one that comes standard with Windows will do.

Look for "resize" image somewhere in the tools. I use 640 x 480 but you can try different sizes to see what works.

If you want to keep the original image in its current size, rename the smaller version and use that one to post on the forum.

I usually just tack on "sm" at the end of the existing name.

Oops, I forgot to shorten my sentences again.

G'Day All, We are new to the forum, caravaning etc. but not to the " We are having fun because we are older". Having been in the Ulysses Club for several years. Their motto is " Grow old disgracefully". Very valid.

I'm George & my wife of 35+ years,Linda have a plan. We will retire & go "Nomad" within 2 years. Sell up everything that's not essential. Store our precious things and hit the road.

We picked up a tug from Gumtree that was great buying & has more bells and whistles than we are likely to need. Next bit of luck was a camper trailer off Ebay at a very fair price.

For the time being the set up will get us out & about and give us the feel & flavor of what we plan to do.

A year or so we will upgrade to a caravan. By then we hope to have a clear idea of what we will need as opposed to what we think we want.

The 4x4 has been getting out a lot since we got it a few weeks ago & has proven to be spot on.

We plan to take the camper trailer out for a long weekend very soon.

We have a lot to learn but you should never stop learning.

Catchya down the road.IMG_0698.JPG

Welcome Chopit, sounds good to me, keep a bit of weight in the back of the ute when towing for stability, won't be hard to do.

I was reading somewhere that a chapter of the Ulysses Club had a combined rally with a Postie Bike club in Oz and all had a great time.

I wasn't aware that there was a club for postie bikes, but apparently they are quite a popular group.

Happy travels

Yes. There are some out there who enjoy riding insane distances on postie bikes.

Gary, I see what you mean. How do it downsize my pics ? That's what happened when I uploaded them.
Cheers

Well done, chopit. That's a serious looking tug and those big wheels look like they could handle just about anything.

Thanks All for the greetings. This seems like the place to be.
Yes, the Hilux is a bit special. Someone has thrown a lot of $$s
at it over the years. Aside from the obvious there is a 3.8 ltr
V6 and 4 speed auto driving it along. Picks up her skirts
and boogies.

BTW, chopit, if you ever wanna post a large pic for whatever reason, just upload the pic and don't click on "insert".

That way the thumbnail will appear and people can click it to see the bigger version.
