Yep, got the tug back from the repairer about an hour ago. New bull bar fitted along with new headlight and little bit of panel damage fixed, still not sure about the panel part as I never did see anything but at least the tug is in my driveway now.

Only thing is I will have to search on here as to what to use to restore the glass on the other headlight, I'm sure I read it somewhere on here. The new one stands out like sore toe. I might ask Mr Google as well.

I had a special section fitted to the bottom of the wombat bar for 'Black Cats' and 'Wombats' too, well you just never know when or where it will be needed, especially when in Hervey Bay, Q'land biggrin

I also heard the tooth paste trick as well.

Now you can head up the bay to do that little job & let your friends get away for a couple of days, like the good bloke you are.

You no watt I mean. LOL

G'Day Doug, We had hazy lens on our Commodore and used this Permatex restorer kit - worked great - also used it on the tailights. Here is the link:

I am normally NOT normal so being back to normal is normal I spose.

Who said I was a good bloke JC? I Don't know the meaning, I forget how. But I will be going over the Batemans Bay very soon and looking forward to it I might say.

Now, as for the tooth paste, well I remembered that was what I had heard so out came the tube of said paste and even applied it with a tooth brush, mmmmm, little bit better so said to self, self, what about liquid solvol so tried that, mmmmm, not a lot of difference so back to the drawing board I have gone.

Thankyou all for your help so far. I will have another look at those websites, Bob. Might have to go with that I think. The headlight is glass not plastic though.

Thanks Denis you posted as I was posting mine, I will check that out as well.

Maybe what I should do is get the black cat that caused all this in the first place and use him/her as the polish cloth biggrin

You could also have a look in any Super Cheap Auto store - they have a number of different kits by well-known firms - Turtle Wax, Rain-X, and Meguires.

There's a hint under Hints and Ideas Doug - under 'Window scratches'. I think that's what you might have read. I think someone else has given a similar link above.
How are we going to keep you staying at home now you're tug is fixed? Sounds like it will be a few more weeks.smilesmile

Bit of an update on the headlight cleaning.

Before I hand over any play money for a cleaning kit or similar I have decided to drag out the cordless drill with buffing pad attached and use tooth paste or a cutting compound as a buffing agent, just think it might work, worth a try anyway. I will update in a separate post with result when done.
