We have moved to Albany in preparation to attend a gathering at "Y" something. I stupidly went to a potential employer and they wanted me to start tomorrow. Have had to tell them earliest would be the Feb 5. We than are going to Fiji via Melbourne (Flying not the other way) for 3 weeks in March and then they can have me back late March for a couple of months. Really looking forward to the gathering at" Y" something.

As Jules said, go to the classifieds on this web-site.  We have picked up lots of jobs, house sits, etc from the classifieds there.  Put your own advertisement up, and make sure you keep it updated regularly, as to your location.  By updating it, it keeps it up the top of the list, and also means that potential  employees can see where you are.  We frequently got phone calls from all over Australia asking if we wanted work, until we changed our ad to read our current location, and where we preferred to work.

Most of our most successful jobbies (both paid and unpaid) have come off the grey nomads classifieds, but we have also subscribed to housecarers.com for a small annual fee of $55.00.  Make up some business cards to hand out, and have resume and references as well.  Western Aust are big on Police Checks, so something else to bear in mind. Not sure about other states. Don't travel huge distances for unpaid work or house sits, it can be tempting but unless there is money at the end of the tunnel, it is not worth going in.  Only take jobbies that are within a reasonable radius from the planned route etc.  some of our unpaid jobs have been fun - site, power & water included, some  or all  meals included, bonus at the end.  Other jobs have been paid, it helps if she has an ABN and is prepared to invoice and pay own tax and super.
