The Birth of PJ

I've been undecided about posting this link to a video I made of finally getting PJ together. I made it mainly for my mate Stan as a keepsake and something to show his grandkids. The camper was parked at the side of the garage for many months waiting for a suitable flat tray ute, and ended up being hemmed in by overgrowth. So that was another problem I had to deal with. One day, I managed to convince Stan the Lawn Man to tackle it with his brush cutter and chain saw. He wasn't too thrilled about the job because he's 70 hehe. THEN I had to convince him to help me load the camper onto the ute. Even then, there was a problem with the camper's height. My first "test flight" was a pretty hair-raising experience. So it took well over a year to finally get PJ together. The video, however, runs only 3 1/2 minutes. Click here to watch it.

Nice one Gary......It's good to do these thing to remember how it all started.
I have taken lots of pics of my van how it was and what it's like now........BIG difference I must say, and a great sense of accomplishment for a beaut finish.
I am doing a trial run from Canberra to Brissie next week. will be away for a fortnight. Cross my fingers that all goes OK.

I appreciate the comments, Bronnie and Sarg. As to memories and keeping a record of things, Stan has been mowing lawns around Taree for decades (after selling his farm down Canberra way) and now he's the star of a movie hehe... something nice for him to keep... even though I did poke a bit of fun at him. Most people only think of writing their memoirs very late in life, but forget to keep records all the way through the journey. Photographs of the most ordinary things become treasures one day.

Nice one Gary, I just hope OH & S don't see it. biggrin  Perhaps a disclaimer on the video "kids, just because this man has used his chainsaw like this for years does not mean it is the Right way." no

In our area it would take years to get plant growth like that, I envy you...ha ha

Well Gary I have read your site just recently and made a comment, and I am sure you have read it..Somehow missed the rebirth of PJ..Sorry my friend..I am travelling up to the Gold Coast soon and if all is well with you would like to meet up and have a coffee...I have just retired as you may have read and will probably have to wait a little while before we purchase something...We have travelled all over the place in the family car to meet nomads from Greens Lake to Batemans bay.to Tassie and into Victoria..Don't mind going out of our way and it would be a pleasure to meet.. I will be in touch as the time gets closer. Until then Garry ..TRAVEL SAFELY.... Mongrel Alan..
