Well - today is the day we leave Greens Lakes, thanks to the idiotic behaviour of some over the last couple of New Year's Eves. The lake will be closed from midday today until New Years Day - and we have all had to find alternate places to go. Some left yesterday to camp at Girgarre, some left to start their journey for the year, and the rest of us will leave today for a private camp spot nearby, we will be here till noon.
Why is it that the minority's actions are allowed to dictate to the innocent? This happens in so many aspects of life, and I suppose is an indication of the way society is today - sitting here last NYE we watched young people arrive in cars, or on foot (dropped at the gate by parents sometimes, with eskies full of grog and a tent or swag to "enjoy" themselves - some of these young ones were only 15 or 16). If you are going to let your young people drink, be there to supervise and keep them safe - teach them their responsibilities to other people.
Well, that is my rant for the day - better start getting ready to depart!

I look forward to a report from you or someone else with even some pics maybe of the mass exodus by midday. I just hope EVERYONE is told to get out and they do so or trouble looms and I tell you that for free.
Me, I am camped down the road so I can see the arrival of workers to attend a tree
Who said that That wombat must have snuk in again Hope he also gets kicked out then.

You are so right Jules, unfortunately these are the exact same parents that would sue the pants of the powers that be if anything happened to their dear little Jack or Jill. Just another example of where the silent majority are made to suffer for the few fools that roam this earth.
Have fun wherever you end up and enjoy the start of a New Year. Will catch up at some time. Take and love to you both.

I feel sorry for the authorities, they tried to go easy and leave a nice relaxed environment for everyone to enjoy, and the actions of a few have ruined it for all.
Lets hope after being closed for a year they can regain control, and police it properly across the holidays in future years.
Staying till noon, I reckon you might have some entertainment as the authorities deal with the people who feel they have a cultural right to camp on the edge of this historical man made lake!
Slipped away at 8.30 - no-one awake to say goodbye to! Looking forward to an update - IF there were some who refused to go! Did you wait until 12.01???? Lovely to see you all again.

Thanks to the corop store and Jules for finding this spot for us, I can have three days respite from the dogs as the area is FULLY fenced, and they are loving it running off energy. Windy, Windy, wish it would blow itself away. Again thanks, off for a nap kiddie free.
