Friday morning and I was feeling better and went to Shepparton with Mezzie, Billeee and Jules were going and invited us along. Did some shopping at SPC and Aldi's before returning to Greens mid afternoon. Very hot day so we went for a swim as soon as the shopping was put away. Took it easy after that and I went down to the other camp to see the Grey Nomads camping the other side of the boat ramp.
Watched with amazement when Jeurgen was spotted mowing his front lawn on the lakeside. apparently the campers in the 5th wheeler must have had plenty of space because they borrowed a lawn mower from campers at Ayson's Reserve. Saturday and still felt a bit seedy but carried on with the set up of my camp space. We checked up on Mezzies house battery this morning and found it to be recording 11.6 volts after being full last night.
She has a 120 watt portable solar panel and a 80AH deep cycle battery running a 85ltr fridge freezer so she can't camp for any time like that, she has packed up and gone home with a view to contacting an auto elec in Bendigo to dicuss Jeurgens idea of utilising the roof of the camper for permanent solar panels and an additional battery. She will return when that has been fixed for another trial run prior to her taking off for an extended trip.
It has been a very hot windy day today and because I haven't used the front shade across the awning there was room to put another support in the centre. This is how it works, take a 2inch hinge and remove the pin inserting the single side of the hinge into the sail track and putting a metal hook into the hinge add a double tie down. This has been around for some time but there may be some who are not aware of the easy idea. The noodle cut downs are to increase visibility lessening the chance of tripping over the pegs.
Another hot windy day with very little happening, Billeee spent time getting his towed car onto the dolly and ready for his departure tomorrow, we had a happy hour outside Rob and Sally's van extending into the evening. Monday, Billeee and Julie were off by 9.30 and Jeurgen shortly after so this side of the ramp now has Paul and Hazel, Rob and Sally, Kieran and myself. We have another visitor Sucastia (Russel and Sue) for a couple of nights. Went swimming again, how good it is to beat the heat and take ages before getting hot again.
Getting very quiet at this end of Greens with Kieran heading off early, Paul and Hazel together with the grandies set off later leaving just Rob, Sally and myself to the left of the boatramp. Still expecting a couple more to come later, Patty is now back from Tassie and is expected before the weekend after spending time with her daughter and son close by. Mezzie will return after her solar and battery problems have been addressed.
Decided to give the generator a work out, I took delivery of the Kipor 2.6KVA last July in Townsville and have used it 3 times for 7 minutes a time to fire up the microwave. I have been told that they need a work out and it is better to run the petrol out of the carby than have old petrol sitting there. I had it running for a couple of hours until it ran out, didn't need it to power the bus so just charged up the drill battery and ran a lead to the cranking battery
.
Wednesday, Rob and Sally have gone to Shepparton and asked me if I wanted anything. They were going to Bunnings so I asked them to get me a couple of 50mil brackets to anchor the new antenna to the side of the bus. Will use the flanges to insert the magnets with a view to holding the antenna more firmly. Also asked them to pick up 2 X 3ltr bottles of orange juice from Aldi on the way back, very hot here lately and my new healthy regime won't allow me to drink fizzy soft drinks or cordial
.
Was surprised to see Philip drive up in his transit van and boat behind, he was here last year after seeing him at Bluewater Park north of Townsville and inviting him to camp here for a while. I have replaced the GPS I started out with and have been looking for a traveller without one but most have one even if on their smart phones. Philip didn't have one but now has and set it up to take him home tomorrow, probably the best start off is to be taken where you know the way. http://youtu.be/nXW-x2ThPgs shows the maiden and only voyage.
Had a couple more Grey Nomads turn up today, Robyn and Ted (Priceys) then Dennis and Yvonne (exa) so that has balanced us out again with 4 vehicles on each side of the ramp. We will start off our happy hours again tomorrow was a bit hot and late to bother tonight. No doubt there was one going off on the other side of the ramp but I had been down there twice already today and gave it a miss tonight. Breaking news Paul (my van) has just arrived from his S A trip John
Same !!! Hope you don't mind me copying that awning support John, I have the Middle rafter for our awning & the guy ropes each end. Looks like an essential addition for "Greens"
Thanks for the update John, there has not been much news coming out of Greens recently, I think all the others have gone quiet relying on your updates.
Even though I do my updates in "General" I have not done any while here at Greens as John is doing his and I would only be doing similar reports so I can't see the point in doubling up. Pics would be similar as well.
John has a Blog and uses the updates there as well. I don't have a Blog. I do keep personal daily notes and any pics though. My updates I do are only to family and friends while here at Greens and are done at the end of each month.

It is true that things are quiet this year at Greens, at this time last year it was quieter. There was a mass exodus after the New Year, I left on the 6 Jan to go to the Elvis Festival and by then most had left.
It suits me to camp for an extended period at my summer home Greens Lake and the weekly posts are copied from my blog (Signature) which has chronicled my life for the past 4 years. Were it not for wanting to continue the blog indefinitely my posts here on the forum could well be diminished. It seems that they are well read and others find them interesting so I continue to copy them across.
Granted it is not easy to find much different to post about after 10 weeks in the one spot hence some times the posts are a little humdrum, but I try.
John forgot to tell you all , there are five vans other side of ramp , no bug this side.?. We are ok. Sorry John some bugger will say I hijacked your post ???
Look I do realise, that this subject has gone OFF topic Thanks to Glenelg being at fault How ever I also realise it is Not Glenelgs fault, ? Because he learnt to go OFF topic from Dougwe, who seems to have perfected the art of OFF topic, Because Dougwe learnt to go OFF topic, From the
GRAND MASTER of ''OFFTOPICER'' who has now retired to an underground hole out west, ?
Now if i may be allowed to go 'OFF TOPIC and bring the conversation back to topic, I would just like to say, ?
Thank you John [ Yeo ] as I also really enjoy reading your Blog/Update
In a spirit of full collaboration I need a waterside reporter who is on the spot to view and photograph any unusual ramp/lake activity, one who currently is in between updates. There are currently 4 candidates for the job can anyone suggest the most appropriate one?

Hi John,
Your posts and photos generate interest precisely because you cover the normal everyday grey nomad experience and you do it well. Most of our pleasurable memories are rooted in the ordinary everyday things that we do and times we have shared. Thank you.

Excuse me, Dennis. I do not go "off topic" It used to be my good mate wombat but he taught KFT and he makes it look like me.
Bugga, now you have done it Dennis
Sorry John.
I must say that your updates are always full of info John and when on the road you give locations as well as pics of various sites etc so always a great read.
