Took my padded front off and replaced it with alloy plate. Once the padded material gets wet via the stitching it takes ages to dry out and all the treatments just don't work on damp or wet surfaces and my experiences with treatments only served to accelerate the fading

Our vinyl was faded as it had been for most of it's life parked facing east getting early morning sun right though to lunch time. Even now it still gets it I don't have a choice.
Well last year I was over the look of it and had asked about having it replaced with ally, nephew was flat out and a plan was to do it in a few months time, all good.
Then one day after returning from 2 months trip I cleaned the caravan, blacken tyres and silver painted most of the chassis, the whole thing was looking a picture except the dull sad looking red vinyl. Went into the garage come out with heritage red paint and then hand painted the front.
I had people tell me how good the van looked, others thought it was a new van, friends thought I had replaced the front, I just did not tell them anything, I just smiled. Ralph.
After previous problems with the front vinyl on my other vans, I now use a good a vinyl protection cream regularly. This helps keep the front clean even tar but I started when the van was new.
Wont have to worry when I get my new van in 2 months time. All checker plate. Then a good polish.
