We took our new van for a couple of nights to Greens Lake after reading so much about it on this forum . We absolutely loved it ! Didn't know the place existed prior to reading about it here. A few other vans were there so not too isolated for our first free camp. Just lovely , quiet and bird life plentiful. Will be back for sure. We're learning so much from this forum Thanks all.
Good choice of first time free camp for sure. Greens was my first free camp as well many moons ago and have spent many nights under the moon there since. Great memories and friendships formed there as well. If you get a chance October through March try and get back as many members of this forum visit Greens during those months.
Keep Safe out there.

We go all over Queensland. I was up at Karumba on the Cape then over to Townsville to see me mate Doygwe, am now in Shepparton Victoria getting some repairs done, stay in vic for summer then up north for winter. Just a great life.
Was the ground wet at Greens Voyager00 ? I am considering a couple of night there from Wednesday 9th. I am not too concerned about the cold but the ground can get very slippery if wet at Greens. Tossing up between Greens and Aysons...
Where have the little laughing faces gone ?? Replaced with numbers , another mystery.
I discovered that if I used the little faces from my iPad, they came up as numbers and gobblydegook, - not compatible with the forums webpage or whatever.

The ground was dry in most places , we had a lovely spot right on the lake . It was a little windy but well worth it. So glad we found out about it on this site and will certainly return . Thought we may do a bit of free camping at Tocumwal this week , seems to be a lovely place on the river beach area.
