I thought I'd pop up a couple of pic of our tug, its a bit belated as we got it in April but better late than never. Hope to get the van in early December.
Seeing the towball on the back reminds me my wife parked her car in the street and when she came back someone had stolen the towball off it.
I've worried about that myself. Sometimes I take the gooseneck and ball out of the tow bar and stick it in the back of the 4WD. Then I worry if I have a bingle the heavy ball will fly into the back of my head.
Better to buy a new ball than a new head I suppose.

Myrlin, You can purchase a Hayman Reece locking pin to ensure tow tongue security for a mere $35-00 at Super Cheap or a generic brand for $27-00 search.supercheapauto.com.au/search reece locking pin&isort=score&method=or&view=grid&af=brand:sca
A floating tow tongue/ball would be fatal into the back of a persons head.

Thanks Possum3, I'll check it out. Sounds like a great idea.

Thanks for the heads up grahos re the theft of your towball. I realised the potential existed a long time ago for someone to nick the WDH tongue assembly so I fitted a locking pin to it.
But that only secures the tongue assembly, not the actual towball itself. I always carry a spare towball just in case, but I'd be surprised if anyone has a locking device for the ball.
At the end of the day, you'd have to be pretty desperate to knock off a towball, even a nice chrome plated one.
I got this from Supercheap Auto. It was about $40. There were cheaper ones but this looked pretty sturdy and had 2 keys. But as Fastcoach says, it won't protect the actual ball.
