Shake Out Trip

Hi Folks

At long last, we hope to pick up our caravan on 9/12 and plan to do a shakeout run up to Shep and Echuca then head home to Melb via Greens Lake. Thinking of being at Greens from about 19/12 to about 23 or 24/12.

Just wondering do we need a booking at Greens, I assume not.

Thanks.

Just check in at the office as you arrive but lakeside sites are dearer than tree line sites. Also depends on if you want sites to the west or east on lakeside drive.

Couldn't have explained it better myself Doug.

Oh, the office is first on the right of boat ramp, with Cafe written on the side.

Geodia, it's a free camp my friend, no charge, no power but toots and water but filter or boil first for drinking.

You must have some form of producing your own power i.e. Solar or wind. Heaps of wind here though. Both types biggrin

Just get here and enjoy this great place. Great water frontage sites as well as up under trees with a view of the lake.

Make sure you bring a fly swatter. Heaps of them little buggers.

Glad you cleared that up Doug.

Looking forward to meeting some fellow nomads in Dec, wind or no wind.

I likewise am glad you ended up giving a sensible reply.

May see you there one day...

I am guessing there is no office either.

No GEODIA. No office, unless the toilet is classed as your office my friend biggrin

We like to have some fun around here GEODIA so you will have to join in sometimes. It's a change from all the serious stuff.

We had a most pleasant albeit short visit to Greens at the tail end our shakeout trip through Central Victoria.

We were both a bit nervous at first with meeting up with the legendary "grey nomads" but our neighbour Heather soon made us feel comfortable.

Many thanks to Plendo and Dougwe for much great advice shared with a couple of green newbies to caravanning.

Sorry we didn't get to say goodbye to everyone but we wanted to leave pretty early to get back home and clean the van before putting it in storage for the hols.

One of the most beautiful sunsets I've seen swept across the lake and the hills to the west on our first night.
