I have visit Greens Lake but moved on was not my cup of tea , But if some people want to stay there for extend time so be it , But for me there is to much to see in this great land for me to set up at one place for such long periods that why we are all wired different so in retirement is the time to do our own thing .
Ah Doug I just don't like popcorn whenever anyone offers me popcorn my standard reply is "I'd rather eat cardboard "

Bout time Ian. Gee mate that was the longest I have spent in the naughty room. whoever goes in next will have to take a stock of grog cos I finished it all off. Even the bottle of Chivas Regal KFC left hidden behind the big screen TV that I sniffed out.
Well I was in there a long time.
Yes we are GN and we move from happy hour to happy hour the from summer back to summer next season. We all do what we want when we want.
Cute pick in your AV Ian. It looks like you were about to be attacked. With heaps of cuddles that is.

People could take offence to "free loaders" as aren't we all when we free camp. I would imagine that the ones that stay there would be taking care of, sharing their experiences with newbies that try camping in this wonderful place. I for one am offended by the term. Maybe I am over reacting for a newbie.
I could be classed as a "freeloader" - I have camped at Greens Lake for a couple of months at a time - the regulars that camp there over summer keep the place tidy, picking up rubbish left by "weekenders" etc., some of the men also have been known to clean the toilet blocks, when needed.
After New Years Eve one year, there was so much stuff left behind - rubbish, of course, as well as lounge chairs, camping chairs, rolls of black plastic (used to make a bike ramp into the water) - gazebos - you name it - some "pig"even shoved a towel down the men's toilet, blocking it completely - one of the GN's pulled it out and cleaned the toilets.
I think calling them the Greens Lake Freeloaders is an insulting and demeaning term, and I reckon the original poster was just out to cause trouble!!!

Also been to Greens and not many people there at the time but still cleaned up other peoples mess. Just a pity they can't clean up themselves. It's not much to ask is it? I also must be a freeloader (which I hate this term) but am proud of the way we leave the place when time to go.
