I may be wrong, but I thought that at one stage, I read a thread on here that Greens was a donation site, with payment at the nearby local store. Corop I think it is.

If so, doesn't everyone from here make a donation to stay? Certainly, if it is a donation site, I do not think that 'cleaning up" should be considered payment in kind.

We clean up sites when necessary without considering it to be a "payment". It is just the right thing to do to encourage councils to keep facilities open. A donation on the other hand is to cover such things as the dump point, rubbish removal and toilet cleaning and supplies, so in my opinion, should also be given.

If it is not a donation site, I will retract myself down my burrow and keep quiet again!

After checking with the store and water authorities, Ian, there is NO donation box at any store for Greens Lake. Just down the road at Girgarre there is also a lovely little camp area with a small donation box in the shower at the back of the mens toilet. Nothing to do with Greens lake though.

Thank you both, Dougwe and Brickies.

I shall withdraw to the burrow and prepare for the wind and rain tomorrow as we leave for the Flinders from Whyalla.

I also apologise if anyone took offence to my incorrect assumption.

I'm not offended Ian and don't think anyone else would be either. You just asked a question.

Don't retreat down your burrow mate. My old mate wombat might be down there. He is in hiding, never to be seen again.

Greens Lake has no limit on how long you can camp there , But in their camping rule you should camp 50 mts from water line .

Greens Lake has been on my bucket list, since I joined this forum, and read about some of the friendly people who go there

I saw on this forum in the past, something which said
Grey Nomad, is a person who spends a fortune, trying to live like a homeless person
Or words to that effect

In my opinion, it would be a very big stretch, of my very small imagination, to categorise a Grey Nomad, as being in the same camp as a free loader

As a side note
Tongue in cheek
I have ate all my popcorn, should I get some more, or has this topic drifted out to the middle of the lake, become waterlogged, and slowly gone under
