Wittenoom Asbestos

A five minute documentary on the three residents still living in Wittenoom WA

No disrespect intended, but is it my imagination, or are the residents showing signs of being a bit short of breath

Interesting - we went there in 2005 while staying at Karijini - the people were amazing, not many more than three even then - the lady who had the gem shop etc., was a real character - not sure if that is Maria (?) or not - but we enjoyed the place. The hills surrounding the town are amazing.

I went there with a tent when the CP was operating and the pub still open, also went into the mine area but not the mine itself.

The CP grounds were covered in asbestos tailings and a willy willy went through and tried to pick up my tent and I had to jump inside it to prevent it taking off, asbestos dust flying everywhere, this was about 1980 I think, still a few living there then.
