Got taken back to my childhood recently - in Biggenden (QLD), stopped at the bakery for a loaf of bread, one looked lovely, lots of seeds and grains on the outside - I asked the lady, was it the same on the inside - she told me they mixed all the leftover dough together at the end of the bake, sold like hotcakes!
When I was little, my brother was an apprentice baker in Sorrento (VIC), at the end of the bake, he would mould animals - ducks, elephants, etc. - out of the leftover dough. We often had hot duck bread or horse bread for breakfast - the Biggenden bread was delicious - a great mix of brown and white, with a few grains etc.

I remember growing up in N.Z. My first car was a 1926 Essex Super 6, payed 100 pound for it, got it home, cleaned and polished it, checked the water, then off for my first drive, The Bomb only lasted 4 hrs then blew up, forgot to check the oil !!!
i was into drag racing back in the early 60's standard fuel cost 1s+2p per gall and super fuel was 2s+3p , we bought a drum of Aviation Fuel ( 5 quid per gall ) to power my 36 v8 Coupe, that blew a hole in he Block no worries !!!
Those were the days of the Wing-Wheeled push Bikes, the old push bike with a small motor fixed either over or under the rear tyre, my first one went like a rocket, after fiddling about with the motor, I got Mum to watch as I rode down our street on it, she soon had a near Heart attack as I had wound the throttle wide open while adjusting the carburetor, the bike took off and the only way I could stop it, was to balance on one peddle and kick the fuel tap shut with the other foot, just managed to run out of fuel before I hit an intersection with a stop sign. must have been doing better that 30 mph by then !!!
That bike was for sale in the local Rag the next day ( Mum's Orders )
