Wild dogs attack man

A man working on a farm in Western Australia has been attacked by wild dogs

Here is the link below

http://www.abc.net.au/news/2016-11-23/dog-attacks-man-while-fencing-in-wheatbelt/8050302?section=wa

It happened near Koorda in the Wheatbelt, which is only about 150 kilometres NW from Merredin

Just putting this up so that people who are thinking of camping in that area, keep an eye open, and have a shovel or stout stick handy

That's so terrible poor man. Too many animals "get lost", and become feral - take care out there - don't leave food outside, or rubbish either.

From the article.

"He said there was a plan in place to spend for $20 million but he said that would not even scratch the surface"

Typical statement from some government representatives.
It appears (from that statement) that there is never enough money to address a solution to most situations.

$20 million would go a long way with a baiting trapping or shooting program to reduce the number of wild dogs.
Obvioulsy a project of this nature would have to be managed correctly to ensure minimal stress to other species but 20 million is a lot of money and if that amount could reduce the numbers of wild dogs significantly then attacks of this nature would become less of a threat to the general public.

I'm unaware of any other attacks of this nature, an isolated incident.

Certainly not a threat to the "general public"

If you were in Rundle Mall you would be considered the general public.

If you were camped in a remote area you would be considered the general public.

if you were working on a remote WA farm you would still be a member of the "general public".

The frequency of an incident doesn't change a persons "general public" status.
