I never knew there were such things still available, in this day and age

Many small yachts have the metho burners mounted in gymbals so I guess that method would be a lot safer way to use them but common-sense should always prevail. Similar problem with kero and petrol burners.
I reckon soon they will ban boiling water and make it illegal to heat water above 50C so you cannot burn yourself.
