Reminds me of back a few years when they would run part of a movie backwards or double speed forward and it would bring the house down. That clip is probably 3X speed!.

Good Luck.

Thanks Goldfinger even though it brings back a few not so pleasant memories . 10 years ago I lived in Maputo, (Mozambique) and although this clip has been quickened up it still looks to be reasonably orderly and the vehicles are definitely in a lot better condition than what I experienced. In Mozambique the general duties police would jump out of some hiding place and flag you down because you were white and driving a car that was in good condition, they would then accuse you of some made up traffic offence which as a great favour they would overlook if you paid them for their generosity. The longer you refused to pay the more the cost would drop, if you wanted to hang round and haggle with them they would eventually give up and let you go. For me the money was nothing (probably equivalent to about A$7) and I knew that these guys were paid a mere pittance so I usually gave it to them. The most nerve racking was at major city intersections when the traffic lights were out due to frequent power failures (a bit like Adelaide biggrin ), then it became a game of chicken and who was game enough to go first, I can tell you it was a whole lot less civilised than what is shown in that clip. I found it didn't take long to get accustomed to this type of road behaviour and I learnt very quickly how to drive to stay alive.

It looked like some of those pedestrians had a death wish though.

Yes, I would like to see it at the real speed where all the pedestrians are not running 4 minute miles!

I think all those drivers have what I would call a pedestrian mentality. I saw something similar in Bali. No-one believes he has more rights than anyone else, just like us when we walk in our crowded shopping malls, without pushing, jostling or getting hostile. The difference for us is that when we drive we're very concerned about who has right of way, and so tend to throw patience and courtesy out the window. Of course it's the way we've been taught and the way our rules have been written. In Australia we'll probably never change. I envy those folk who can just go their way sharing the space with other road users.

Too true Kevin, I spent a month walking around parts of Jakarta, the population of Australia unofficially in one City....you quickly learn to value the space you're standing on, and take it everywhere with you guarding that space jealously....having said that, 6 lanes on either side 24/7 bumper to bumper traffic, cars, buses, bikes and scooters...never saw a single prang...first night in Singapore witnessed a vehicle fatality..very fancy/expensive car with all the trimmings..driver deceased....

Its all about attitude.....and Australians have more 'Attitude' than most these days....Hoo Roo
