Steve, Di & Ziggy We named our Motorhome "Roadworx" because on the road works "On The Road Again" Ford Transit with 302 Windsor V8 conversion, C4 Auto, 9 Inch Ford Diff All Lighting L.E.D., 260 Amp/h AGM, 530 Watt Solar + Kipor Backup Gen.
They both would be real teams if they played union, you league pussies need to grow up and watch a real game! Union rules, far better game to watch and takes the pussies out of the game, leaves the real players on the ground! The rules are fairer and we don't have the dollar attached to the game! Feel free to attack me, I live in Victoria, life long supporter of the Western Bulldogs. But I love Union, League is just pansy stuff!
Played Aussie Rules myself, involved with it for many years as a coach, team manager & committee member while our son played it at junior & senior level.
Have zero interest these days, not the same game & all about money not loyalty.

You're right DD nowadays it's all about money across all the different codes and player loyalty in the top tier really is a thing of the past. We struggle in this city to be competitive in 2 of the national competitions not because we don't have the home grown players but because we haven't got the money or sponsorship that the bigger capital cities have to keep them. Personally I like watching a match between 2 good sides regardless of the code, the people who call football players pansies usually do so from a couch and have probably have had no experience playing the game .
Can't comment on the OP as I don't see a lot of bagging of AFL clubs mainly because the code doesn't get a lot of media coverage around here (it's slowly changing) - probably a good example of why AFL runs behind the 2 rugby codes and soccer in the popularity stakes in this part of the world.
"The report centres on one of the club's most successful eras - from 2001 to 2007 when the Eagles made two grand finals and won a premiership spearheaded by 2005 Brownlow medallist Cousins.
Cousins, who spent two seasons with Richmond before retiring in 2010, on Monday pleaded guilty to 11 charges including stalking and drug possession.
A culture of drug-taking was "well in place" by the end of 2003, the report found.
It could be traced back to 2000, based on "success, arrogance (and) a belief that what the players did in their own time was their own business" as well as the "rock star status" players such as Cousins enjoyed in Perth."

Must admit Vince went to the Sydney Football Stadium on numerous occasions to watch both rugby codes i.e. the Waratahs and NRL finals. There was definitely a difference in the crowd behaviour even in the way that they dressed. It also used to amaze me how each crowd dealt with just getting out of the carpark after a game in one code they jostled, pushed and cursed each other and in the other set up a table beside the Lexus brought out their cheese and crackers and waited for the traffic to clear.
JayDee golf is also one of my favourite pastimes I play in a Veterans comp. we have members now in their 80s who are still playing and enjoying the game. Gambling, game fixing and drugs (other than prescribed ones) haven't been a part of that competition yet but I'm sure if they ever appear just like with the WC Eagles the media is going to have a field day..

I am glad that I had read this article Santa, so thanks for putting it up
My respect for Worsfold has now gone up tenfold, as I had assumed that he knew about, and allowed, the taking of recreational drugs
"After West Coast Eagles were defeated by Collingwood in the finals series in September 2007, coach Worsfold addressed the players and after congratulating them and thanking them for their efforts in what was a very close-fought semi-final, proceeded to severely criticise a number of players, who he named, as derailing the team's efforts for season 2007.
"It was clear that the coach was extremely disappointed and angry that the season had not ended on a winning note, and in particular talked about the taking of drugs and stated in belligerent manner that 'he would rather die than take a drug'."
Cousins is now (by all reports), a train wreck waiting to happen, he is addicted, and still says that he can give drugs away, if he wanted to
I say bull(enter the four letter word here)
I look on the bright side, and hopefully what has happened to Cousins, may prompt others, who can actually get off drugs, to do so, before it is too late for them
There's a simple solution Tony Bev, Bulldust Bartlet, Barry Hall and the Magistrate all prove what they are saying is true, or the Eagles sue. 10 million bucks would be a good starting point.
In my opinion, most of it is mind games and/or sensational reporting, Aussie So I would never get my knickers in a twist, over bagging rights, for any sport
Of course the other states bag us, as we also bag them, and the other Eastern States teams, have always bagged themselves, long before the Eagles came on the scene
I do remember before the Eagles, when the likes of Moss and Farmer were playing for Eastern State sides In the Victoria against Western Australia games, we complained bitterly. We claimed that Victoria only won, because they were using West Australian players
As a West Australian, (concerning the drugs) I can not deny that the Eagles players were using recreation drugs
From memory, one player deceased, one player a train wreck, one player collapsed at an end of year function, and at least one player disgraced, according to the newspapers I do not know enough about drugs, to say that what they were taking, were performance enhancing drugs
But... I would not be going to court, and saying that the players never took drugs Unless I was prepared to be economical with the truth
Here is the latest quote in the Western Australian Paper:
Former ASADA boss Richard Ings has come out in defence of the West Coast Eagles in the wake of renewed claims of a tainted premiership.
Ings, who was in charge of the anti-doping authority from 2005 to 2010, said no Eagles players returned positive match-day tests during the 2006 season.
I repeat my original statement,,,,,,Jealous Victorians.
