Nomads heading south..ww3?

With Kim Jong un waving his sabre rattling sword and saying he can nuke northern Australia is there a wave of nomads heading south for the winter? This Korean conflict is scary.

I wrote this on a RAAF Facebook page recently to an old mate -

I think we'll wake up one morning soon to find 300-500 cruise missile have destroyed all launch facilities and in the North and heavy artillery within range of Seoul, and as soon as that is finished Appaches will be over the border in there droves to tidy up, just like Iraq border with Kuwait - was a turkey shoot for the helos.

Plus this one -

Well the USS Michigan an Ohio clas sub in South Korea showing the flag. The BIG question is where are the others... Bloody strategically placed I would suggest. Each Ohio sub carries 154 cruise missile (yes 154) and they only have 18 Ohio class subs. If I was Nth Korea I would be worried and I bet the US Navy has hunter killer/attack subs in there as well to take out their assets and some can launch the big missiles and tomahawks as well. It will be a real **** fight if it starts.

At the moment he cant deliver but as soon as he can the sh** will hit the fan one way or the other.

I think that when we allow any sort of bully, get us worried, then they have half accomplished, what they had set out to do

I am certainly hoping to go North, this coming winter, for a short look at Darwin

Thanks for your replies. I was in the RAAF in 73-76. I'm on political forums about these current conflicts. I didnt realise the division between Americans was so wide. From no wars at all due to Americans fed up with being the worlds policeman to using their great military to crush every regime. I think action now is necessary as in 4 years North Koreas missiles will be intercontinental and that means targets here like Pine Gap are real. But I cringe at the thought of 2 million dead rather than 20 million in 4 years time. But regardless of 20 years of sanctions NK still wont change course. Now Jong un has threatened China. Maybe the USA is preferring China take them on as they have the troop numbers. NK subs are a problem, old as they are. About 70 of them. The world it seems isnt taking much notice. Trump and Jong un wont back down.

Yes I'm off to Darwin for dry season (getting cold in SA now) and daughters up there. One is worried but I explained what you have said above - didn't help much.

Don't think they will worry about Pine Gap I think it will be a civil target Cairns / Darwin or the like for maximum terror.

We have to keep ''sucking up'' to the Yanks because our armed forces are pathetic in numbers, equipment & training. If we needed the Yanks would they come and help us though?

We're heading north in mid June. If we get hit by a nuclear missile we won't have time to think about it anyway. laughing.gif  laughing.gif

I guess that you should never say that a WW3 is impossible, but I am finding the current posturing and activity to remind me of what I have heard about the Bay Of Pigs Missile crisis of the 60's . A lot of chest thumping, brinkmanship, and I suspect and hope, amount to nothing at the end.

I suspect they will find a way for Korea and the US to back down , and both claim to be winners and the saviours of the world!

Until then, keep enjoying life and our country, because when all is said and done, we will have little say (as individuals) in what happens.

Hey.

I was involved in the COLD war back in early '60's.

WITH the Nuclear Missiles in West Germany pointing over the fence, then the wall.
We slept virtually on top of the heads.
Didn't know any better in those days.

The least of anybody's problems.
Is them being fired. IF they actually ever are.

WHAT IF.
Is the primary thing that has stopped it so far.

They land on you. you dead. YOU LUCKY.
Believe me.

I've seen Photo results, Instructionals as part of the G.W. training

and other long term details of what happens
and to who,
for as long as we ALL will be alive. and the ones after us.
NOT nice.

Was all Part of our preparation and forward training,
to "hopefully" control things. AFTER...

IF we survived. But NOT long odds.

They'd be popping at us too.

The deformation of humans in their breeding alone,

Will go on for generations.

Not even thinking about the animals.

NEVER eat meat. IF.

IF they start popping them off.
I for one. will be racing TOWARDS the nearest one.

What's left.
You don't want to know, believe me.

In the numbers this little tete-a tete, will start.

At least then.
The planet can have a rest for few million generations,
then start again.

Hmmm.
Maybe not a bad thing after all hey.

I'd Just feel sorry for my grandkids.

"I digress" is a chat. I'm not worried but am very interested especially as this possible conflict can involve many nations-USA, China, NK, SK, Japan, Russia. We might have to face this soon. Lets hope it is a bay of pigs.

I don't understand why you would think that America wouldn't support us, just the same as they have in the past. How quickly some forget!
