Holy guacamole! This sort of argument can get out of hand real quick! I'll just say this.. I DO think we need to get way tougher with radicals and crims who we deign to let in to what is one of the best countries on the planet. And I hate PC too. But a lot of terrible mistakes were made in the 'good old days' pre PC as well. I've got ex-child-migrant acquaintances to prove it. There is some danger of losing what we have here in Oz if we don't harden up. But those dangers extend way beyond just the faith of Islam.

Have to beg to differ about that 2000 year Christian/Islam conflict figure Macka. Mohammad lived around 600 AD. If you do a bit of reading about the rise of Islam and its history since, you'll find that at least in some instances, they were much more tolerant of other religions in city-states and countries they occupied than the Christian faiths ever were. It can be dangerous to just jump on the vox pop bandwagon without trying to get a better background on what drives history and radicals. It's Machiavellian wisdom to know your 'enemy' before attacking, even in print. The facts are not cut and dried. I'm no great apologist for Islam today, but the concept of 'kill 'em all' has the ring of Nazism about it. Just like Catholics, they can't all be bad! Our problem is that some of them just won't fit in with our Oz culture. But many do, and have been for a long time.

Something else; we have started to discuss religion here, as is inevitable in this kind of thread. I thought it was against the rules?? Yeah I know. I'm being naughty too..

MOST of this is the coroner's fault.

My take on the coroner . Is , to find out how/why people died . I can't see how they can make "any"

recomendations in fields they know nothing about . Like th one that said "the pacific hwy should be 4 lanes"

& all th "hanger on ers" jumped on the gravy train . BUT . How come More people are dying in the New sections.

How come he did not mention "The Nuts behind the wheel SHOULD learn to drive , instead of being trained in how to get their licence"

Look at ourselves . We Don't need a licence to tow a wobbly , of any size , weight or configuration. We are older & wiser.

I Live 45k from Coffs Harbour . But it is a 60 drive OR 120k if I use the Pacific Hwy . SI , if I use "the forestry/nat Park.

1/3 is tarred , 2/3 is dirt , but "all weather" track . I Love that way , as I get to see a lot of the"eastern Dorrigo"

But I can't do the speed limit . I HAVE to Drive to the conditions.

The conditions facing Police that day , were NOT Ordinary . That idiot wanted "death by cop" to get his 72 virgins.

Geezus h kerist . I Never want or wanted one I want a Woman who is Experienced in "pleasuring me".

Oh , by the way . Yes . I Have aimed Rifles at peoples heads . And yes , ordered to squeeze the trigger.

Could/ would you do that.

The main point is in my opinion that the police should never have run the operation, they were not sufficiently trained to do so and that was shown to be true.

1. After Monis fired police were seen on camera scurrying to get their equipment.

2. Several Police officers were seen trying to break down an outwardly opening door.

3. Several Police officers when entering through main doors were lobbing smoke/stun grenades over the heads of fellow officers, two officers were already in the cafe firing, so they had smoke grenades lobbing in behind them???

The powers to be, the Police Commissioner and the Premier should have requested that the 2nd Commando Regiment with their SAS trained squad to intervene, especially after Monis had shown the religious signage that should of rang alarm bells.

The problem with this problem.

Is our police and others, are constrained by "Civilised" rules.

written in peacetime by Mainly politicians who've spent their lives sitting on a bench

conferring with themselves.

 

The way the world has, and is going. we need to have a completely NEW.

Set of rules. "IN THESE CIRCUMSTANCES ONLY"

With. Such as the SAS Unit at the forefront. Plus others. also trained as such.

WITH  their own chain of command as to what to do. AND when.

Over and above the rules and reg's  we live under with police.

AND LET THEM GET ON WITH IT>

 

Forget the whingers.

 

And as far as my Dead Muslims is good Muslims.

 

Yes. SOME are good people. BUT   HOW do you, or I. Differentiate??.

 The religion has the women wearing masks and baggy gowns

that anybody could wear. anywhere. (With these stupid PC laws)

Carrying anything underneath them.

As has looong been proven, unfortunately.

 

Muslim Radicals.. use children as live bombs from under 10 yrs old.

The next one YOU walk past Could be one. Can YOU tell.

 

And that's me finished with this. we breaking rules here.

 

we have 11 grandkids and 5 kids in this country between us.

I would like to think they were safe.

I am absolutely amazed where this has gone which is a very long way from where I started and my intention in writing the original post I believe that we need to discuss these sort of issues but we need to do it in a positive and informative way and in a way where we are sensitive to the feelings and opinions of others.

I in no way intended to imply any Racial or Religious undertone in my post, monis was a low life scum bag criminal, and that's all he was nothing to do with Race or Religion.

I am a bit surprised that Cindy didn't shut it down because our rules state we have to stay away from racist comments and Religious issues and having read all comments.

I still believe that our Police officers did an outstanding job and deserve our respect I know I couldn't do their Job and still remain the person that I am and want to be, I would like to ask that we let this one go through to the keeper.

The NSW police used the wrong ammunition - they were advised by the army not to use it but they did anyway. They must take the responsibility for that.

I reckon I've killed and repelled millions of mozzies in my time. But thanks anyway. Red's good but rum's better..  wink   

Still haven't found anything proprietary that's truly better than Tropical Strength Aerogard. They all have the same stuff in them, and fail after a relatively short time if you're sweating.hmm

That Tropical Aerogard attracts the bloody things.
They come looking for you. then won't go away.

Home made brews and RID (Roll on) seem the best.

"OFF" is best I've found on market for Midgies and Sand Flies, Specially the S Flies.

Tell you what, I'm going to do all I can to stay away from aged care facilities. no

Tried a home brew way back while camping on a mangrove creek. Can't remember the exact formula. Baby oil and citronella or something. Worked ok for sandflies. Later times we just plastered ourselves with TS Aerogard and it worked for a while. I tried rubbing my face with eucalypt leaves in desperation once when hunting on foot. Bush flies driving me nuts. It worked for about 5 minutes hmm 

Maybe we should start another thread.
