Yep, I love it here in downtown Townsville during NRL season. SOO parties etc.

I support Storm and like the Cowboys as well BUT they play each other up here in a few weeks so Storm it will be that night.

Yes Brickies, Townsville and also Mackay are both great Rugby League towns. Both have produced some champion players. North Queensland has produced an exceptional number of champions, not only in league but cricket and tennis.

It is easy to strut around saying how fantastic your team is, how passionate your supporters are or how your players are far superior to the other side when you are winning. The true measure of a supporter is whether you would do the same if your team was losing - Townsville is no different from Newcastle or Woolongong or any other major population centre in NSW who I guarantee are just just as passionate when the blues are winning. Cut the crap at the start of the series QLD supporters were making excuses about why they would lose, at the other end we get the usual rubbish about Qld players being able to walk on water. At the end of the day NSW lost the series by playing an exceedingly dumb half of football in the second game, in the other 2 games each side had a turn of dominating the match.

Being a NSW born and bred now living in W.A. I have been a supporter for the Qld side since Origin started, same for the Broncos , It all started because the guys I worked with in NSW were all one eyed ****roach supporters, so to inject some interest i decided to follow the out of towners, and have stuck with them since day one.

Go the Roons, and the Broncos, win ,lose, or Draw.

Are you trying to convince us that The Mighty Maroons can't walk on water?  Surely not.

As for the pre game comments, the long suffering C ockroaches & their fans need some encouragement or they might not even turn up. Now we will have to come up with something to get them to play & not just turn up like they did in the second half of G2 & G3.

The big question is ..  Who will be the new Coach if Conk spits the dummy  ..  Has your Newcastle hero got the goolies for the job?

We had a great S.O.O. night on Wednesday. Went to mates place to watch the game.

Very impressed with our new team.

The one thing that has not been mentioned is that the NSW Blues only scored 6 points in over 120 minutes of football. Not a pretty report card me thinks. I recall a similar situation in 2016.

The one the thing that our boys did was to make sure that at least one player was holding onto the legs of those NSW forward, so very little ground was gained as against the first S.O.O. Game.

Just for the NSW supporters the local paper... The Courier Mail.

featured a full front page with the caption.

""VALENTINE DAY MASSACRE.""

Queensland was a Champion team where NSW thought that they were a team of Champions.Big difference as per the score card.

I guess ABNER it is a little easier to get on board with a team who is winning rather than someone who is losing - a true New South Welshman would follow their boys win lose or draw , as you don't meet that requirement please feel free to stay on the toad bus. I too lived and worked in WA for a number of years but I never forgot where I came from. Are you suggesting Cupie that Nathan Brown should take over the NSW coaching role - having guided the Knights to 3.5 wins in almost 2 seasons he probably meets the job description ?

Sorry Cupie I just read on Facebook that Andrew Johns may be taking over the coaching role of the blues - we are about 7 hours behind you over here in Bahrain and because of that we don't always get the news straight away. No doubt Joey like Laurie Daly has the football knowledge and both were brilliant players in their day but in IMHO the challenge is going to be the same  i.e. how do you transfer that confidence that you are going to win to your players.
