warhorse, he's claiming to be an innocent / honest victim of the system so, I might send him my bank details for him to make a donation and make himself feel even more honest. Don't watch this space.
Cheers, honest John.
Leaving the politics out, the reason it is in the Constitution is to prevent someone from swearing allegiance to two different powers.
Ironically, the Queen is head of state in both Aus and NZ.
It all started with a Lawyer trying out Derryn Hinch only to come up with Scott Ludlum. Apparently Scott Ludlum was involved in a campaign several years ago trying out Tony Abbot's citizenship but never questioned his own.
G'day. More interesting news. It would seem that yet another Greens Senator has had to resign for dual citizenship. Not wanting to turn this into a political debate but just wondering about all the items passed in Parliament with the help of the greens.
Cheers.

Or not passed! It would appear that the 2 replacement senators would probably vote along the Greens line - one is a Green, the other a Democrat.
I know we are not supposed to talk politics on the forum but I really hope that for the benefit of all Australians that the current batch of politicians all have dual citizenship.
