I thought they were trying to get Tourists to come to the Kimberley, not drive them away with more charges, !!
What do you think, ? is this just another money grab ????
The fee is being phased in by the Wunambal Gaambera Aboriginal Corporation (WGAC), with cruise and charter boat operators facing a one-off $200 fee per berth during the current tourist season ? allowing multiple visits by passengers to the tourist spots.
The charge is set to rise to $152 per visitor by 2019. This would be charged on top of existing fees charged by cruise operators to travel to the sites.
Terrific to see the local land owners showing a bit of business initiative especially when the funds are going to be used for the local community and to help protect the beautiful environment of the Kimberley.
There may be a great opportunity for an experienced business person to assist with marketing and fee structure as I think that $304 per couple may well be over the level that most would be prepared to pay especially when you can see similar beauty in the Kimberley for a much smaller price and in a lot of instances still for free.
